Insipiring scene behind the recording • • • • • (bewertet mit 5 von 5 Punkten) There was two important reasons why we enjoy a music: because we like it, and - the one which gives more lasting impression - because we experience it! And after watching this DVD, I would never listen to the CD the same way (if you don't already have it, you may want to consider to buy the CD, the one with Kiri and Jose Careras). The program does not only show what happens in the recording room, like most of "Making of..." or "Behind..." programs, but also the emotional journey of the eccentrical maestro Leonard Bernstein and all the casts. Here you could see the recording process of most highlighted numbers, such as Tonight, Somewhere, and the most touching One Hand One Heart. The Maestro said once, that he thought the process would be full of insecurity, but indeed what he found in this small, funny, and crazy in a way, lyrics are tremendous security. Just like a lasting poet. Watching this DVD, you will get a sense why. So I would recommend it. And for your last information, I was not even a big fan of West Side Story.
