Well, "Shooter" is really not a hit. Very trashy.

On the first couple of pages it starts with a mission in Somalia. The whole thing is described really sketchy and colloquial. It proceeds with 5 pages about his youth and family (his dad became an academic, he had a good relationship with his dad, liked playing baseball and once had a brawl, etc.). Again, it is really VERY simple written and from time to time you can find some misspelling.

In "Shooter" the author does not really describe how a sniper works, how things are. He just kind of says:" Well, I went there, aimed at him, (his own fault, he was too stupid to hide), breathed in, and shot. Wicked - hit!"

I personally prefer books from Andy McNab or "Cold Zero" by Christopher Whitcomb (which is a far better book about sniping than "Shooter").
